I decided after I finished up volunteer teaching underprivileged kids in Costa Rica, summer of 2010, that I would teach abroad when I graduated college. I graduated June 2012 and landed a job in Nanjing,China two weeks later. I am twenty-five years old, trip over my own two feet like it's my job, and have no sense of direction. Much like Costa Rica, I am traveling alone to China; only two weeks turns to a YEAR, and I do not know where my residence lies. Did I mention I do not know an ounce of Mandarin? Just keep any sort of sea urchin away from me and I'll be fine.
Why keep this experience to myself? Maybe I will encourage someone else to do the same.
This is my story.
