Welcome!

Hi Everyone, welcome to my blog! Here you can read all about my adventures in China. My journey officially begins on October 12, 2007.

So what am I doing in China and why am I writing about it? As many of you reading this already know, I am an acupuncturist. I received my education at Yo San University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in Los Angeles, California, where I now work as a faculty member, clinical practitioner, and Assistant Academic Dean. Many of my teachers were Chinese, and I’ve always wanted to learn more about the roots of TCM, and see how it is practiced in its native country.

So now, through my school, I have the opportunity to do a four-week externship in Chengdu, Sichuan province. I’ll be doing hospital rounds, attending lectures, and trying to learn things that I can’t read about in textbooks. And since life isn’t all about work, I also plan to soak up as much local culture as possible, attempt to learn some Mandarin, sample some of China’s best cuisine, and possibly see the world’s biggest Buddha.

So if you’re a friend or loved one, a member of the Yo San University community, a patient of TCM, or just someone who enjoys reading random blogs, come along with me as we explore China! Huan ying!
